The Senior Managing Director Regulatory Reporting will be responsible for managing all aspects of the bank’s regulatory reporting processes, with a focus on critical reports including FR Y-9C, Y-9LP, Y-14 Q/M, Y-15, as well as FFIEC 041. This role requires expertise in U.S. regulatory requirements for Category 4 (or larger) banks, strong leadership capabilities, and hands-on experience with AxiomSL (now part of Nasdaq) or similar regulatory reporting platforms. This role will report directly to the Chief Accounting Officer.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Reporting Oversight: Lead the preparation, review, and timely submission of all required regulatory reports, FFIEC 041, FR Y-14 (Q/M), FR Y-9C/LP, FR Y-15, and related filings with the Federal Reserve (FRB), OCC, and FDIC.
Oversee the implementation, optimization, and ongoing management of the regulatory reporting platform to ensure data accuracy, automation, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Develop and maintain strong internal controls over the regulatory reporting process, including data sourcing, validation, reconciliation, and reporting workflows.
Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies, managing examinations, audits, and responding to regulatory inquiries related to financial reporting.
Build, manage, and develop a high-performing team of regulatory reporting professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
Partner with key stakeholders across Finance, Treasury, Risk Management, IT, and Compliance to ensure alignment of regulatory reporting with business operations and strategic objectives.
Monitor changes in regulatory requirements, assess their impact on reporting obligations, and lead change management initiatives to maintain compliance.
Provide thought leadership and strategic insights to senior management on regulatory trends, reporting risks, and process improvement opportunities.
Education, Experience and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. CPA, CFA, or advanced degree (MBA, MS in Finance) preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in regulatory reporting within the banking or financial services industry.
Extensive knowledge of U.S. regulatory reporting requirements, including FR 2052a, FR Y-14 (Q/M), Y-9C, Y-9LP, Y-15, and FFIEC Call Reports.
Hands-on experience with AxiomSL (RegCloud/ControllerView) or similar platform, including data integration, reporting automation, and process optimization.
Strong understanding of liquidity risk, capital adequacy, stress testing, and other regulatory frameworks (e.g., Dodd-Frank, Basel III).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high attention to detail and data accuracy.
Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop a high-performing team.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information to senior management and regulators.
Proficiency in regulatory reporting systems, data management tools, and advanced Excel. SQL or data analytics skills are a plus.
The estimated base salary range for this position is $225,000 USD to $260,000 USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
